Alice Johnson has been freed, thanks to Kim K’s efforts.

After Kim Kardashian West’s meeting and plea to the President if United States Donald Trump, Alice Johnson has been freed.
Alice was convicted for a non violent crime related to drug possession. She wasn’t eligible for parole as there’s no parole in the federal system.

Moreover, the 62 year old, had spent 20 years in jail. She was also denied clemency during President Obama’s period. Regarding the clemency an official statement was released by White house:

‘Ms Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades.
Despite receiving a life sentence, Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself in prison, and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates.’

The news was delivered to Alice via a phone call from the reality TV mogul.
According to Alice;

‘‘I felt like I was resurrected from the dead and just got my life back’.“

She also shared the news on twitter via a thread thanking the President, authorities and expressing her happiness for Alice.

A new chapter

The happiness and awe on the face of Johnson could be seen after she was freed. In statements released to the press she was in awe with the efforts Kim K made for her release. Alice called the reality TV star an ‘Angel’ and she wants to make the president proud.

While talking about her life in a documentary filmed in jail, Johnson stated:

‘I missed the birth of my grandchildren, being able to be in their life. I just had a great-grandson and I missed that. Both of my parents had passed away. I was not able to be by either of their sides in their final days. That’s an ache that I can’t..That never goes away.”
